Third in the alliance
On 1 August, Switzerland’s national day, Swiss WorldCargo became a member of the joint business agreement that Lufthansa Cargo and United Cargo launched in 2022, thus recalling the moment when "three Alpine cantons swore the oath of confederation in 1291.
The partnership now links the three carriers’ trans-Atlantic cargo networks, enabling coordinated schedules, harmonised handling processes and shared capacity management. The integration expands route coverage between Europe and North America, including to and from hubs such as Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich, Chicago, Houston and Newark. Customers will benefit from simplified booking, improved shipment visibility and faster connections.
The carriers also plan to further align their digital platforms and explore joint sustainability initiatives, strengthening their position in one of the world’s most competitive airfreight markets. (ah)
