SeaPort Manatee, located at the entrance to Tampa Bay near Sarasota, has appointed transportation industry veteran Amanda Tyner as director of planning and project development to further enhance its role as a leading trade gateway for Southwest and Central Florida.

Tyner previously served as freight and seaport coordinator for Florida’s Department of Transportation, where she worked closely with the port on several state-funded projects. Executive director Carlos Buqueras said her experience "will significantly benefit key infrastructure developments to handle increasing cargo volumes."

A US Army veteran, Tyner has also worked in trucking and logistics. SeaPort Manatee generates nearly USD 7.3 billion in annual economic impact and supports more than 42,000 jobs without relying on local tax funding. (ah)
