Marco Polo unveils ‘CSOV Plus’
Marco Polo Marine has partnered with Salt Ship Design to develop and construct the first 'commissioning service operation vessel plus' ('CSOV Plus'), to be built at the company’s Batam shipyard. The vessel is the first of its kind designed from the keel up for dual operations in the offshore wind and oil and gas sectors.
Unlike converted construction vessels, the 'CSOV Plus' is purpose-built, with integrated walk-to-work systems to support the full lifecycle of offshore wind projects, including construction, cable installation, repairs, maintenance and technician transfer. The project contract was signed between Marco Polo Marine’s Taiwan-based subsidiary PKR Offshore, Salt Ship Design and Marco Polo Shipyard. (js)
