Intermodal boost for LA and Houston
BNSF Railway has launched an expedited intermodal service between Los Angeles and Houston.
The third-day offering connects BNSF’s Hobart terminal in LA with its Pearland facility near Houston, targeting shippers seeking faster, more reliable alternatives to road transport, the company has reported. Designed to convert truck freight to rail, the new connection boosts capacities and improves transit times on BNSF’s busy 'Southern Transcon' route.
The service aims to benefit shippers currently moving freight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Houston. BNSF expects the service to attract both existing and new customers by enhancing capacity and network consistency. (js)
