Helrom, a German service that transports lorry trailers by rail, has filed for preliminary insolvency proceedings, marking the start of a restructuring phase, as director of sales Bruno Weissmann announced on LinkedIn.

With this move the company aims to stabilise and secure its operations in the long term. Core services along key east–west and north–south rail corridors will continue uninterrupted. Routes deemed economically unsustainable are being discontinued as part of a strategic refocus.

“This is a difficult chapter for our team, our partners and everyone who believes in our mission,” Weissmann said. He added that Helrom reaffirmed its commitment to transforming railfreight with greater focus and discipline. (js)
