COFC expanding with BNSF
BNSF Railway and COFC Logistics will expand their intermodal programme to cover more of the eastern United States and extend it into Mexico.
The move aims to increase container availability for asset-light intermodal marketing companies (IMCs) and broadens COFC’s North American footprint. In addition to access to northeastern and southeastern markets, the service will now reach Monterrey (Mexico) in partnership with GMXT, offering greater capacity.
"This expansion is about empowering IMCs with the tools they need to compete and grow," said Jonathan Mulch, vice-president for sales and marketing at COFC. The initiative adds seven new ramp pairs, with more expected, alongside optimised service schedules tailored to non-asset IMCs. (js)
