BSK urges unified rules

Germany’s heavy transport industry is calling for a political rethink on regulations and approval processes. Ahead of its general meeting in Dresden, the Federal association of heavy transport and crane work (BSK) outlined key priorities: continued talks with policymakers, a 'Vision 2030' for faster digitalised permits, and a unified national regulatory framework. BSK supervisory board chairman Andreas Kahl warned that outdated infrastructure is undermining competitiveness and delaying major projects in construction, energy and industry.

Managing director Helmut Schgeiner added that the sector, while small in volume, plays a crucial economic role and serves as an indicator of Germany’s economy. The association will discuss these issues further during its upcoming conference, where Prof. Dr Gero Marzahn of the Federal Transport Ministry will be keynote speaker. (js)
