‘BlueTechPort’ project awarded to joint venture
The Port of Barcelona has awarded the €52.3 million contract to build its new 'BlueTechPort' to a joint venture comprising Comsa Sau, Vopi4 SA and Comsa Instalaciones y Sistemas Sau. Designed by b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, the 25,700 m² facility will transform the former port warehouses into a space fostering collaboration between companies, professionals and institutions in the blue economy.
Managed by the World Trade Center Barcelona (WTCB) during the 36-year concession, the hub will host start-ups, accelerators and international institutions linked to maritime innovation as the port reported. Construction begins in November, with completion expected within two and a half years. (js)
